cSync ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS application.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Contact Information

cSync accesses your device's contacts to provide core functionality including:

Contact management and organization
Duplicate detection and merging
Contact backup and restore
Advanced search capabilities

Important: All contact data remains on your device. We do not collect, transmit, or store your contacts on our servers.

1.2 iCloud Data

If you enable iCloud sync, your contact backups are stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework. This data:

Is encrypted by Apple
Remains in your iCloud account
Is not accessible to us
Can be deleted at any time through your iCloud settings

1.3 Usage Data

We collect minimal, anonymized usage statistics to improve app performance:

Feature usage counts (stored locally)
App version and device type
Crash reports (if you opt in)

1.4 Subscription Information

If you purchase a Pro subscription, Apple processes your payment through the App Store. We receive:

Subscription status (active/expired)
Subscription type (weekly/yearly)

We do not receive your payment card details or personal financial information.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information solely to:

Provide and maintain app functionality
Detect and merge duplicate contacts
Enable contact backup and restore features
Manage your subscription status
Improve app performance and user experience
Provide customer support

3. Data Storage and Security

3.1 Local Storage

Your contact data is stored exclusively on your device using:

iOS Contacts framework (managed by Apple)
Encrypted iOS Keychain for sensitive settings
Local app storage for preferences and quota tracking

3.2 iCloud Storage

When iCloud sync is enabled:

Backups are stored in your personal iCloud account
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple
We cannot access your iCloud data

3.3 Security Measures

Subscription and quota data stored in iOS Keychain
No data transmitted to external servers
App operates entirely offline (except for subscription validation)

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. Your contact data:

Remains on your device
Is never transmitted to our servers
Is only accessible to you through your device

4.1 Apple Services

We use Apple's services for:

StoreKit: Subscription management (Apple handles payment processing)
CloudKit: Optional iCloud sync (data stays in your iCloud account)

5. Your Rights and Choices

5.1 Contact Access

You can revoke contact access anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy → Contacts
The app will not function without contact access

5.2 iCloud Sync

iCloud sync can be toggled on/off in app settings
You can delete iCloud backups through the app or iOS Settings

5.3 Data Deletion

Uninstalling the app removes all local data
iCloud backups can be deleted from your iCloud settings
Subscription cancellation does not delete local data

6. Children's Privacy

cSync is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.

7. International Data Transfers

Since all data remains on your device or in your iCloud account, there are no international data transfers by us. Apple's iCloud service may transfer data according to their terms and privacy policy.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted in the app and on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

California residents have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

Right to Know: What personal information we collect (see Section 1)
Right to Delete: Request deletion of your data (uninstall the app)
Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell personal information

Since we do not collect or store contact data on our servers, most CCPA provisions are not applicable.
